Tunnel → Nodes lists the machines that have connected to your account
with noketd. Each row is one node: its name, whether it is online, and when it was last seen.
Creating a node
A node is created by the connector, not in the console. The first time you run noket up
on a machine, Noket generates a node id, stores it in node.json in the config directory,
and registers the node. From then on that machine is the same node, across restarts and upgrades.
Naming
The node name defaults to the machine’s host name. Override it with --name on
noket up, or set name in the [tunnel] section of config.toml:
[tunnel]
name = "gpu-box"The name is a label in the console. Changing it does not create a second node.
Online status
A node is online while its connector holds the tunnel connection. If a machine sleeps, loses its network, or the connector exits, the node shows as offline; the connector reconnects when it can and the node comes back without any action from you.
Models bound to an offline node cannot serve requests. Their calls fail until the node returns.
Removing a node
Remove a node from the console when you retire a machine, or to clean up after a reinstall that lost
node.json. Removing it deletes its registration; if the connector is still running, it registers again the
next time it connects.
Before removing a node, check Models for models bound to it. Those models stop working and need a new binding.
